Addressing heat sources is imperative – supplier

CHEMICAL APPLICABILITY FireDos monitors are crucial in areas where conventional firefighting methods are challenging, such as in chemical and petrochemical plants
Given the high risk of fires, especially in waste, wood and paper processing, there is an increased need to adopt early fire detection systems using infrared detection to allow for the early identification of potential fire sources and rapid response times, highlights fire protection specialists and FireDos partner DoseTech.
Visualising heat sources and fighting them in an automated way underscores both companies’ strategic approach to effectively managing heat sources.
FireDos’ early infrared camera and monitors for automated extinguishing help identify and address hazardous hotspots that may turn into a fire source. This system has the advantage of locating fire hotspots and extinguishing them with “pinpoint precision”.
FireDos’ combination of automatic early fire detection and an automatic fire extinguishing system enables tailored extinguishing strategies that are “perfect for each application”.
Smart software and analysis of individual characteristics are used to screen the surroundings, distinguishing between hot engines, exhaust pipes and hotspots that may indicate an actual or possible fire.
Integrated with the automatic extinguishing system, the FireDos firefighting monitors are controlled electronically. The required extinguishing agent flow rate can be adjusted automatically during operation and achieve maximum reach and optimum accuracy, owing to the flow-optimised oval, flat design.
The advantages of early fire detection include rapid response times to fighting fires before smoke appears, cost savings owing to minimised system downtime and false alarms, as well as the system’s “maximum reliability for automated surveillance and pinpoint extinguishing”.
Infrared Detection Systems
In the event of a fire, infrared detection systems with heat detection and automated extinguishing systems outperform other technologies as the fires are quickly and reliably identified before professional intervention is required.
The required extinguishing agent flow rate can automatically be adjusted during operation, and the systems that can be coupled with extinguishing monitors from FireDos for automatic extinguishing include the Orglmeister PYROsmart pro, the DIAS PYROVIEW FDS early fire detection system and the FGD FlameSpec-IR3 flame detection system.
The Orglmeister PYROsmart pro has been specifically designed for the early detection of potential sources of fire in storage of bulk commodities with a high energy content.
By minimising the damage from fire and ensuring that people, goods and production are protected, these systems help companies comply with safety and insurance regulations.
